We are able to perform high-precision micromachining and high speed surface processing with laser technology on several materials.
The micromachining laser beam covers a wide range of processes by which it is possible to fabricate discrete components or achieve functional characteristics of larger components, typically in the 0.005 ÷10 mm size range.
Thanks to the laser’s high degree of focus, high precision handling systems of the piece and the presence of sophisticated on-line monitoring of the process, this technology allows for high accuracy machining (microcuts, pinholes, 3D microstructures, microlabeling etc.) according to predefined geometries that derive directly from the CAD model.
In particular, the possibility to modulate the laser beam’s characteristics in relation to the material to be processed allows for optimal processing quality even on materials difficult to work on using conventional technologies.
Additionally, the use of a pulsed laser source with a high repetition frequency coupled with a handling system and beam focusing at high speed, allows for various types of laser surfacing (marking, engraving, weaving, cleaning, roughness, etc .) on numerous materials with speeds that can reach 20 cm / s. A dedicated management software allows for direct construction of geometry processing using CAD interface, the "importing” of files to common CAD formats, as well as the adjustment of all key parameters of the process according to the specific quality requirements.
The system was developed in collaboration with the Centro Laser of Valenzano and the Politecnico of Bari, also thanks to the contribution of the Regione Puglia in the P.O. Puglia 2007-2013 Linea 1.1 – Azione 1.1.2 – "Tender Investment Aid for Research for PMI".
